I feel like I do not know how to respond to this. I for am for anyone that wants to create anything they want, regardless of who they are. I have a lot of female friends that are in the industry and I have seen and heard the horrible stories of what they go through from time to time. I would never try to tell anyone that I know what they are going through. I think all I can do is be willing to listen and discuss issues and throw support where I can.

It sucks that women keep having to endure the crap that’s dropped in their laps by an insecure group of men that don’t know how to now be sexist idiots. I appreciate the diversity that gaming should invite, but sadly we don’t get that. Hopefully one day, the gatekeepers in the gaming industry can stop holding on the archaic ideas of where women “belong” and appreciate that so many women are so downright awesome at what they do.

bro-mage to the beat-em-up games of days past, Double Dragon Neon is just fun to look at. The animations are flawless and delightfully colored. Certain scenes, like a silhouetted battle in a mountaintop monastery, shone through the silliness of the game and offered something stunning to look at. If you have a brother, a sister, a roommate or a significant other . . . you absolutely must buy this game. If you grew up in the 80s or 90s you will certainly appreciate the nostalgia, and if you didn’t, you’ll get to experience one of the seminal foundations of current video games.

You may have noticed a picture of J. August Richards & I! We’d been facebook buds for a while and finally got to meet! He was so nice and down to earth. I was incredibly nervous! Our little conversation was definitely the highlight of my weekend. The Buffy & Angel Q&A he co-hosted was really delightful. I truly hope he returns next year, maybe I’ll be less nervous!

Wiggy: Madeline and I were hyper-conscious of the way that women are portrayed in the Song of Ice & Fire series. There are some moments in those novels where women are totally equal players, and others where sexism is the driving force, and we wanted to address that by encouraging those playing female characters to be strong and sexy, and have agency. I think it’s especially great for our female-dominated genre to be exploring some male-based narratives and characters, since in those books, males are often subjects while women are objects. The stories we (women) often hear do not have women as agents in their own lives, even if they are the main characters of the books, movies, or shows we watch. Writing and performing our own stories, even if they are based on characters from elsewhere, is a fantastic and potentially empowering exercise. Taking male and female characters out of those novels, giving them agency, and telling a story about them can recontextualize them, and that is really important for women to be doing in particular.

Supergirl definitely does not need a movie. She’s an offshoot character by definition. I’m afraid it would be an Elektra / Catwoman – esque disaster. Wonder Woman though? Le’s make it happen.

Now one woman that I DO need to see is Nia Long. Kristen Bell is cool and all but I definitely had a crush on Nia ever since Fresh Prince was messing with her on his show. She’s DOPE.

I am also in the minority of folks that didn’t HATE x-men 3. It was definitely the weakest movie, but it also had some of the best scenes of the trilogy. I loved the parallels of the Magneto / Professor X visit when Jean Grae was a child with the house destroying, Professor X killing visit. Also loved when Magneto and his crew were just walking across the Golden Gate bridge slamming cars left and right. The scenes couldn’t make up for the rest of the crappy movie, but they were sitll good.

I agree that the tension between Amy and Rory was a bit forced, especially since their problems seemed to be resolved so easily. I don’t really think they were needed in the episode at all, to be honest.

On a different note, are any of you watching the new (2011 onward) episodes of the Hunter x Hunter anime? It started out a little slow, but now I’m hooked!

I find it surprising that Cinna is black because I pictured the Capitol as being full of white-supremists. Notice how in district 12, the rich people are usually white and poor ones usually olive-skinned. It seems that everywhere in Panem there is a tendency for richer people to be white. Of course Cinna could be from the slightly poor side of the Capitol. Not trying to sound racist, I just figure the Capitol would be racist. As for Rue, the books explicitly state that Rue and Thresh are both black. I can see someone missing that they’re black and imagining otherwise, but anybody who complains about them being black on the grounds that it isn’t true to the book should be deeply embarassed. It would be like complaining that the characters in Harry Potter talk like british people.

Maybe you can tell us how to make a chkdsk /f batch file when you have to answer 2 questions, because I do not want to use /x to dismount.
So first I want to answer “N” to NOT dismount the drive.
Secondly I want to answer “Y” to schedule chkdsk E: /f at next start-up.

I haven’t seen her lately which makes me sad but outside of Gotham Central, 52 was my favorite place to find her. I believe she was in an issue of Birds of Prey but I could be wrong. I just know her and the Huntress talked at one point. It could have been in her back of the issue feature in the first Batwoman books in Detective Comics 854-861.

I thought Prometheus was great except for the character flaws mentioned. My real gripe is with the lack of movies with depth to this level and deeper. As far as concept design and imagination goes. I can only hope for more imaginative movies like this. I love space film’s.

Well the movie has already been released and I thought it was pretty good but I did imagine Peeta as a larger and more husky build than josh hutcherson had to display but jenifer Lawrence did an amazing job as Katniss. I loved the scenery I thought it was very good but I must agree with the critics that it was a bit “shaky”.

I’ve read so many mixed reviews about Prometheus that I have no idea if it is a good film or not! I guess I will actually have to see it for myself but I may wait for it to come out on DVD. There does seem to be a consensus that the plot was jumbled and baffling.

Lawd help me, I’m about to start reading this because hearing you all just allude to its craptasticness cracked me up.
I have 2 co-workers and a friend who’ve either read or are in the middle of this series, and they all love it.
I read the sample and almost gave myself eye roll whiplash one morning on the bus to work.
(“What-tha-? *Really!?*” That was me at 5:45am on a bus full of snoring people, trying to keep myself in check.)
If I’d been able to throw the sample across the room, it’d been thrown, but I did the next best thing and pulled it off of my Nook. (Which, given the genre, sounds kind of…well…moving on…)
Anyway, I just got all three books (bless you Internets) and I’m goin’ in.

My brother and I payed the all the time on SNES. We’d even quite Mutoid Man – “Noooo Waaayyyy” while paying other games. Lol. Since I was the younger brother I was always second player – so I got to use the Black guy.

Also, people forget that this game had the violence controversy before Mortal Kombat. Like NARC before it, the arcade version was very gory, especially if you got blown up and that eye would go toward the screen. SNES version was definitely toned down.

You know, I think since District 11 is the agricultural district it’s probably in the South. That probably means that there are a lot of black people there. I live in the South. There are Caucasion people here too, I am one (About as white as it gets, lol.), but…we have black people too. And I’m not even as deep south as like, Georgia. I’m just Oklahoma.

Yeah windows 7 does FINALLY have a derangementing tool that you can schedule. I use an old version of CCleaner – I forget the version number- because some of the newer versions started using ads and all kinds of stuff.
